½ cup rolled oats

½ cup green peas

½ cup potato

½ cup carrot

½ cup of water

¼ tsp. pepper powder

Salt according to taste

Method

Take the oats in a pan and sauté them. Add vegetables to it and mix it up. This helps improve the aroma of the oatmeal.

Now add salt, pepper and water and stir it on a low flame. Add more water if needed.

At this point, you can add some seasoning like mustard, jeera and curry leaves. You can also add butter, oil or ghee. These need to be heated separately and then added.

Finally, once it’s cooked you can squeeze a few drops of lemon juice on it and relish it.

½ cup rolled oats

1 banana

1 and ½ cup of fruit juice – orange, apple or pineapple

(use sweet fruits)

10 cashews or almonds

1tbsp lemon juice

Method

Rinse the oats in warm water.

Soak the oats in lemon juice and warm water.

Soak it for 8 to 12 hours, preferably overnight.

After 8 hours you can drain out the water and blend the oats with the fruit juice and banana. Once it’s blended well pour it in a glass and then garnish with some almonds and cashews. You can also top it up with some cinnamon powder.

2 cups rolled oats

1 medium onion (finely chopped)

1 medium tomato (finely chopped)

1 or 2 green chilies (finely chopped)

1 tsp. cumin seeds

1/4 tsp. turmeric powder

2 tbsp. oil

2 tbsp. coriander leaves (finely chopped)

Salt according to taste

Method

Heat oil in a pan, when heated add cumin seeds and green chillies. Sauté.

Add onions and tomatoes, mix until its golden brown. Put the chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.

Now add the oats along with 4 cups of water and let it cook for 5 minutes. Mix half of the coriander leaves in these.

Serve in a bowl and garnish with the remaining coriander leaves.  

Recipe 4: Banana Oatmeal Pancakes

½ cup rolled oats

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1 cup milk

1 tbsp. vegetable oil

1 egg (lightly beaten)

1 medium mashed banana

Method

In a bowl, mix in the dry ingredients – flour, oats and baking powder.

In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients – milk, egg, oil and blend well.

Combine the contents of the two bowls and add the mashed banana.

Heat a pan to make your pancakes and grease it with oil or butter.

Put ¼ of the mixture, when cooked on one side flip it over. Then take it off. Do this for all the mixture.

⅛ Tsp. cinnamon powder

Salt to taste

Method

First, roast the nuts in a pan and take it off. Then in a pan, take the water and salt and boil it and add the oats and raisins.

Ingredients

3 cups oats

1 and ¾ cup of milk

2 eggs

¼ cup butter

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. cinnamon powder

1 tsp. vanilla extract

¼ tsp. salt

1 and ½ cup mixed berries

Method

Whisk all the ingredients together in a large bowl.

Preheat the oven to 350-degree F.

Grease a baking pan. Pour the whisked mixture in the baking dish.

Bake this for 35 minutes.

Let it cool for 5 minutes and serve it. You can top it with yoghurt to make it yummier.
